BUILDINGS is based on a photograph I took in Sendai, a city whose architecture stood out to me more than anywhere else in Japan. The structures there feel deliberate, estrained, and bold without being loud.
The repeating balconies and sharp angles create a rhythm that draws the eye upward, emphasizing structure over scale. A single figure appears briefly within the geometry, partially hidden, reinforcing how people exist inside these systems rather than dominating them.
